Bluefish Recipe

Grilled Bluefish with Herb Marinade

Ingredients:

  • – 4 bluefish fillets (about 6-8 ounces each)
  • – Salt and pepper to taste

For the Herb Marinade:

  • – 1/4 cup olive oil
  • – 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • – 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • – 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • – 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • – 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • – 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • – 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • – Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. **Prepare the Marinade**:

   – In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dill, thyme, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper.

  1. **Marinate the Bluefish**:

   – Place the bluefish fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the fish, making sure it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a more intense flavor.

  1. **Preheat the Grill**:

   – Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

  1. **Grill the Bluefish**:
  • – Remove the bluefish fillets from the marinade and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with additional salt and pepper if desired.
  • – Place the fillets on the grill, skin side down if the skin is on. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  1. **Serve**:
  • – Transfer the grilled bluefish fillets to serving plates.
  • – Garnish with additional fresh herbs and lemon wedges if desired.

This grilled bluefish is excellent served with a side of grilled vegetables, a fresh salad, or a bed of rice. Enjoy the delicious, herby flavors and the tender texture of this versatile fish!
