Halibut Recipe

Pan-Seared Halibut Fillets

Ingredients:

  • – 4 halibut fillets (6-8 ounces each)
  • – Salt and pepper, to taste
  • – 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • – 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • – 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • – 1 lemon, sliced
  • – Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • – Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. **Prepare the Fillets:**
  •  – Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  •  – Dredge the fillets in flour, shaking off the excess.
  1. **Heat the Pan:** In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. **Cook the Fillets:**
  •  – Add the fillets to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The fish should flake easily with a fork.
  •  – Remove the fillets from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
  1. **Make the Sauce:**
  • – In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute, or until the garlic is fragrant but not burned.
  • – Add the lemon slices to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the lemon is slightly caramelized.
  1. **Serve:**
  • – Spoon the garlic-lemon butter sauce over the halibut fillets.
  • – Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

This pan-seared halibut is perfect served with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a light and satisfying meal. Enjoy!
