Mahi Mahi Recipe
Pan-Seared Mahi Mahi with Lemon Butter Sauce
Ingredients:
- – 4 fresh mahi mahi fillets
- – Salt and pepper to taste
- – 2 tablespoons olive oil
- – 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- – 2 garlic cloves, minced
- – 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- – 1/4 cup chicken broth
- – 1 tablespoon capers, drained (optional)
- – Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- – Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions:
- **Season the Mahi Mahi**: Pat the mahi mahi fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- **Heat the Pan**: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- **Cook the Mahi Mahi**: Place the fillets in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork. Transfer the cooked fillets to a plate and keep warm.
- **Prepare the Lemon Butter Sauce**:
- – In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Allow it to melt and start to brown slightly.
- – Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- – Pour in the lemon juice and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- – Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2-3 minutes, or until it slightly thickens.
- – If using capers, add them to the sauce and stir to combine.
- **Serve**: Return the mahi mahi fillets to the skillet and spoon the lemon butter sauce over the top. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to reheat the fish.
- **Garnish and Enjoy**: Transfer the fillets to serving plates, spoon the sauce over the top, and garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices. Serve immediately.
